Zamfara Government Replaces Emirs Over Alleged Banditry

The Emirs who were dismissed over their alleged involvement in banditry in  Zamfara state, have been replaced by the state government.

 

The dismissed Emirs are Emir of Zurmi Abubakar Atiku and that of Dansadau Emirate, Husaini Umar. They were arrested and detained at Government House Gusau for several months before being charged to court for alleged banditry.

 

The newly appointed Emirs are, Alhaji Muhammed Suleiman Bello for Zurmi emirate, Aliyu Garba Mafara of Birnin Yandoto Emirate and Mohammed Aliyu of Bazai Emirate.

 

Secretary to the state government, Kabiru Balarabe said;

 

“The appointments of the three Emirs take immediate effect”.
