“I believe with the two major fasting seasons, the Almighty will pour on us the spirit so that there would be peace and progress in our land”, Agbebi said.

In his lecture, the Guest Preacher, Imam Abdul Hakeem Lawal(Amir Ikhwan), charged leaders to be courageous, have listening ears and be trustworthy irrespective of their religious, tribal and political affiliations.

Imam Lawal added that it is only God that makes one a leader as everyone cannot become but affirmed that once God has declared and pronounced you a leader, you must be knowledgeable and have that wisdom expected of a leader.

He said as a leader, that knowledge would help to serve, just as he added that he(the leader) must be able to take decision and abide by same either favourable or otherwise.

“Allow people to advise you because no matter how good you are, you must have advisers among your members that can give you constructive opinion and if you listen to them, it will guide you”, Imam Lawal said.

The cleric also declared that any good leader must be trustworthy because according to him ” Leadership is trust, and it can make or mar you. Same reason you must ensure that anything entrusted to you is safe. Not that they would bring like 100 items for members to share and you want to use veto power that after all I am the leader, at least 50 of the items should be mine, no, first of all allow them share the things among members before taking your share-that is leadership”, Imam Lawal said.

The highpoint of the event was the offering of special national prayers for the socio-economic, as well as the security challenges facing the country and noting the need for enhanced peace, progress and development of Nigeria
