Yoruba Council Worldwide Advocate For The Protection of Indigenous Language, Unity and National Development

 

At the recently held United Nations Day of Indigenous Language held in Lagos at the Oodua House by the Olokun Festival Foundation under the amiable leadership of Iba Abdulganiyu Abiodun Ige Adams, Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land wherein several cultural advocacy speakers and stakeholders featured at the epochal event led by Honourable S.O.B Agunbiade, Former Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr. Olabode Abimbola, Lecturer at the Lagos State University, wherein Aare Oladotun Hassan Esq, President, Yoruba Council Worldwide while delivering his speech advocated for the protection of Yoruba indigenous language and advice the day be recognised as “Yoruba Language Day” Ayajo Ede Yoruba- in Commemoration of the United Nations Day for Indigenous Language, he emphasised on the need for Aare Gani Adams to seize his vantage position to rallying all Yoruba indigenous people globally for the protection of our language, cultural heritage and security of Yoruba Land.

Aare Oladotun Hassan Esq commended Aare Iba Gani Adams on his indefatigable roles and commitments towards the noble development and preservation of the Yoruba culture, particularly championing security of the Yoruba people which earned him the well deserved title conferements on merit as the 15th Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba Land by the Late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwole Adeyemi 111, his relentless advocacy and financial contributions to the promotion of the various Yoruba cultural heritage festivals from Olokun, Oduduwa, Olodumare, Odun Iya to mention a few, right from his University days at the prestigious Lagos State University where both went to and till date the relationship has span unprecedented enigmatic landmark achievements in Yorubaland.

Aare Barr Oladotun Hassan proposed a National Emergency Meeting of Yoruba Stakeholders to be led by Aare Gani Adams to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to use the opportunity to address various issues of mutual concerns, ranging from security to establish a more advanced National and Regional Security Network Task Force that will accommodate all leading socio-cultural organisatios and security related groups like OPC, Amotekun, Onyabo, Atunluse, Agbekoya, Folumo to mention a few, so as to compliment the Federal government’s efforts to fighting against terrorism with more traditional efficiency, efficacy and vigour.

Also to discuss with Mr President is to addressing local people’s expectations, social rights, welfare, economic development and most importantly peace among all Obas and Stakeholders in Yorubaland as part of efforts to rally supports for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda respectively.

It was also opined to establish a licensed Yoruba promotion indigenous radio and television stations that will allow for more robust conversations on Yorubaland development and teaching of Omoluabi principles, ethos and legacies.

Aare Oladotun Hassan advocated for a broadbased unity, peace and progressive development amongst Yoruba Obas.and various fragmented groups and stakeholders, he gave account of his landmarks to have established Omoluabi School Club for primary and secondary pupils and students, Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide for the Yoruba Youths, Yoruba Council of Women Worldwide, Yoruba Council of Obas Worldwide, and several others programmes geared towards promoting the Omoluabi ethos and heritage, with the establishment of the Omoluabi International Festival Day being the only recognised “Yoruba Day” ,Slated for every 1st of May, with this year’s edition slated for Ile-ife, Osun State marking the 27th edition of the Omoluabi Festival, Omoluabi Royal Icon (ORI) Awards of the Yoruba Council Worldwide Anniversary respectively.
