A female congregant identified as Bisi Adewumi reportedly slumped during a prayer session at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries auditorium in the Ibafo area of Ogun State.
The woman said to be 75-year-old died while receiving treatment at a government hospital in Sagamu, Ogun State police command said.
According to PUNCH Metro, the police said the incident was reported on Friday to its Ibafo division by the church’s Head of Security, Pastor Ekikere Esiere, attached to the prayer city.
The church’s famous prayer city is located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The police said Esiere’s report claimed the deceased was immediately rushed to the church clinic for medical attention after she slumped at about 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The deceased was later referred to the Sagamu General Hospital where she was reportedly pronounced dead on Friday.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Omolola Odutola, said the corpse had been deposited at the hospital morgue.
“No relatives of the deceased had come to claim the body yet. She’s suspected to be a 75-year-old woman.
“In the meantime, the investigation is still ongoing,” she said in a WhatsApp message on Saturday.
