Woman Rejects ₦2.5 Million Alleged ‘Bribe’ After Accusing Rivers LGA Chairman of Assault

Winnie Miller, the woman who accused the Chairman of Ahoada Local Government Area in Rivers State, Cheta Epelle, of assaulting her after she exposed the poor condition of a school in her community, has rejected ₦2.5 million reportedly paid into her bank account as compensation.

Miller had earlier alleged that the council chairman led a group of thugs to attack her after she shared a video online highlighting the dilapidated state of Community Secondary School in Odioku, Rivers State.

In a Facebook post made a few hours ago, Miller disclosed that ₦2.5 million was deposited into her account by the chairman, which she described as both a “bribe and compensation” for the alleged assault.

She insisted that she never agreed to any form of compensation and cannot be bribed.

According to her, she has been attempting to return the money to the sender but has been unable to do so due to ongoing network issues with the bank.

Miller maintained that her decision to speak out about the condition of the school was driven by concern for the welfare of students and the need for authorities to address the situation.
