People many times have seen or heard people die in their sleep. It means it is a common health disaster.
In Nigeria, there are lots of reported cases of people wondering why this happens, some are even scared of sleeping at night.
Sleep is regarded as a brother to death by some people. The bad thing about this mode of death is that everbody is at risk young and old, even the sick and the healthy people. There are cases of healthy people who died in their sleep.
It is very important to know some of the reasons people die in their sleep as there are different causes.
For instance, external factors like inhaling carbomonoxide poisoning, for example, smoke from generator plant. Any serious injury from an accident can cause traumatic death in sleep.
Homicide and murder can occur during night sleep.
Health factors like heart failure, cardiac arrest, lung failure, respiratory arrest, heart attack, arrhythmias, to mention a few.
Also sleep disorders can lead to death in sleep. For instance, sleep apnea, snoring and insomnia increase an individual chance of never waking up.
At night people usually make one sudden movement or the other. Some people wake up too quickly to urinate at night while some sudden wake up to do one or two things. Sudden movement from sleep can stress the brain causing the body to suffer some health conditions that leads to sudden death.
Rising too quickly at night can weaken the brain which can reduce the blood flow in the heart causing heart failure. To reduce the risk of stressing the brain and heart, one should not suddenly rise up from the bed after sleep. Stay at least a minute before standing up will help to reduce brain and heart stress after sleep.
