Leader of the New Nigeria Mandate, a political association of Nigerian youths, Mr Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has given reasons why he wants to become Nigeria’s president come 2023.
Ajadi made his thoughts known, in a presidential declaration speech, a copy of which was made available to PM News on Monday.
He said, more than ever before, that the office of president of the country, required a vibrant and committed individual to navigate the nation out of the many challenges it currently faces, and that he was equal to the task.
Ajadi said the ways to achieve these had already been worked by the strategy team of his political association and would begin to unfold immediately upon their assumption of office.
“I offer myself, having identified the challenges of the nation, convinced of my prophetic destiny and assigned role in Nigeria’s rescue mission as revealed to me and some others long before now, by the Almighty God.
“Besides, I am young, vibrant, experienced, detribalised and ready to give the office whatever it requires to succeed,” he said.
Ajadi, who is also the president of the All Nigerian Youths Reoriented movement, added that it was unacceptable for a country so richly endowed to be facing economic challenges such as Nigerian was doing, adding that the only missing link was leadership.
“It is nothing other than leadership- selfless, sincere, and honest-based servant-leadership, guided by the highest sense of equity and fairness. Has Nigerian got the kind of leadership it deserves, it would have developed long ago. Leadership is the missing link”.
Ajadi added that he was offering himself for the rescue job, having identified the challenges of the nation, convinced of my prophetic destiny and assigned role in Nigeria’s rescue mission as revealed to me and some others long before now, by the Almighty God.
“The exchange rate of the Naira has fallen to a ridiculous level; the roads are bad, electricity is almost non-existent in several neighborhoods, and where available, very expensive to afford.
For us as a movement, this is not acceptable, because this country is blessed. God has blessed this country in such a way, that come what may, its citizens should have basic food to eat, water to drink, clothes to cover their bodies and shelter over their heads, but this is not the case.
You cannot blame youths leaving the country in droves if you have not provided them jobs at home, for it is said, that personal survival is the first law of nature.
“In other words, if the conditions in Nigeria were right, there would be less of her citizens risking their lives in foreign countries.
“If Nigerian youths should go to Europe and the Americas, it should be because they are personally convinced of a legitimate means of survival there, and not that they are being forced to relocate from home by hardship.
“For as many Nigerians as are desirous of contributing their quota to the development of their country, my presidency will make this possible for them, because we have developed schemes to address their issues.
“I want to bring consolation to Nigeria and Nigerians, I want to bring hope to Nigerians using the abundant resources in the land”
Urging Nigerians great and small, desirous of seeing our country, reach its God-ordained destiny, to key into this vision – the Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo presidential mandate, he said it was the only good way for the country to go.
“Our youths do not have to go risking their lives on the Sahara Desert trying to escape hardship at home, or the Atlantic Ocean trying to cross to Europe or other continents of the world where there are greener pastures when they can actually stay back here to contribute their quota to the development of their country.
“It is because the conditions at home do not encourage them enough. If a youth is willing to contribute his quota but is not given an opportunity by way of a job, and a friendly environment to set up business, what do you expect him to do?
If a patriotic Nigerian has paid his dues in terms of experience and education and sees a position due him given to another who does not merit it by any legitimate standards, what do you expect him to do?
“If a Nigerian, youth or adult sees other Nigerians recycled for public office over and over, commanding all the millions, exercising all the powers, not because they have very rare qualities, but simply of being connected to one political demigod or dynasty, what do you expect him to do?”.
Ajadi added that as much as his movement was opposed to crime, the Nigerian nation lacked the morality to blame youths indulging in sharp practices, if it had denied such youths every avenue of honest enterprise and personal survival.
“You cannot blame youths leaving the country in droves if you have not provided them jobs at home, for it is said, that personal survival is the first law of nature.
“For as many Nigerians as are desirous of contributing their quota to the development of their country, my presidency will make this possible for them, because we have developed schemes to address their needs,” Oguntoyinbo added.
