The actress made the disclosure during an appearance on the The Afropolitan Show, where she reflected on some of the tough choices she has faced throughout her career.
According to the mother of four, several lucrative opportunities came her way over the years, but many of them required her to compromise her principles. Rather than sacrifice her values for financial gain, she said she chose to walk away from those offers.
Omotola explained that while the money attached to the deals was tempting, staying true to herself mattered more. She added that the satisfaction and peace of mind she gained from making those decisions outweigh any financial rewards she might have missed.
She also noted that such situations occurred repeatedly during her career, but she remained steadfast in her decisions, even though some of the people who made those offers still follow her progress today.
In her words:
“If I wanted to be a billionaire, I could have been one easily because I have been in situations where nobody would have known if I had compromised my stand. But I said no and walked away many times. Some of those people are still watching me today.”
Meanwhile, the actress recently recounted a difficult experience from earlier in her life when she went to a rough area in Mushin in search of money to pay her brother’s school fees.
She explained that a colleague in the film industry took her to meet some men known for lending money in the area, adding that they had to pass through a tough environment before reaching the location where the lenders were waiting.
