Truetells Nigeria reports that the Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petition of the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, challenging President Bola Tinubu’s election victory on double nomination.
This comes after the apex court, presided by Justice John Okoro, also dismissed the petitions filed by candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on the ground that they lacked merit.
In the passing of its final judgement on all petitions filed before it challenging the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal election, which declared Tinubu as the winner of the February 25th poll, the supreme court held that the petitions filed by both parties lacked merit.
In a video that surfaced on social media, Tinubu could be seen affirming the jobs of his appointees, who surrounded him in celebration of his victory at the court.
“Your Jobs has been secured” the president told his appointees.
