A video has emerged, showing the moment gunmen invaded Hope Uzodinma house.
Truetells Nigeria had reported earlier that the gunmen invaded the Governor’s residence in Omuma in Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State, southeast Nigeria in early hours of Saturday, April 24, 2021, setting the governor’s house on fire.
This online news platform understands that apart from setting Governor Hope Uzodimma house on fire, the gunmen reportedly killed two security men on duty before torching it.
Reports have it that vehicles parked at the compound and part of the building were affected by the fire.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, confirmed the incident in a chat with The Nation.
The Commissioner said: “It is true but the information is not still clear. It is not true that several security men lost their lives. About two security men on duty at the governor’s house were killed. NSCDC personnel was among the security men who lost their lives during the attack.”
However, hours after the attack, a video has emerged showing the moment Hope Uzodinma’s residence was attacked by some men dressed in black outfit with face covering armed with guns and machetes.
In the video, one of the attacks was seen rushing inside with the compound used tyre ostensibly to start fire.
A twitter user @WendyPrincea uploaded the video with the caption: “The moment gunmen attacked and set the country home of the Supreme Court Governor, Hope Uzodinma on fire.”
