The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative has been questioned by the Senate Committee on Public Accounts over a N960m personnel cost in the 2022 budget allotted to 43 employees.
The Executive Secretary of NEITI, Orji Ogbonnaya while presenting the budget said N960m was allotted to personnel costs while N760.9 m was allocated for overhead costs.
According to Ogbonnaya, N344m was devoted to capital expenditure.
Ogbonnaya further stated that 51 percent of personnel costs had been spent.
He noted that 58 percent of overhead cost had been expended, revealing that only 50 percent of capital had been released.
