Trolls Accused Tinubu Of Killing My Daughter – Remi Surutu

Nollywood actress Remilekun Oshodi, popularly known as Remi Surutu, has revealed that social media trolls once blamed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the death of her daughter because she openly supported him during the 2023 election campaign.

Speaking on Sunday at the launch of EKO57, a Lagos-based support group promoting Tinubu’s political movement, the actress recounted the backlash she faced online while campaigning for the president.

TRUETELLS Nigeria reports that Surutu said critics insulted her and even accused Tinubu of being responsible for her child’s death, but she refused to be intimidated and still went ahead to vote.

According to her, despite the attacks, she remains committed to supporting Tinubu and will campaign for him again.

“I am not scared. I have been campaigning for many years. People insulted me online during the campaign period. Some even said it was Asiwaju that I was following who killed my child. But I didn’t care,” she said.

Surutu explained that she still exercised her civic duty by voting the next day, stressing that citizens should not allow intimidation to stop them from participating in elections.

She also challenged critics of Tinubu to present a better alternative if they believe he has not performed well in office.

“If you think he has not done well, bring someone from your family to govern the country for just one day and you will understand what leadership is about,” she said.

The veteran actress further spoke about political loyalty and conviction, noting that many politicians only show support when it suits them.

Surutu insisted that she remains firmly behind the president and will continue to support him politically, adding that Tinubu still has her vote.
