Speaking about strategies for selling out movies at the box office, Abraham shared that her open support for President Bola Tinubu in the last election negatively affected her career. She urged Egbuson to remain neutral and avoid endorsing any political figure.
“The first advice I will give you in my entire life is don’t put your mouth in politics. Don’t tell them you’re supporting anybody. Don’t support anybody, just be on your own. Be neutral,” Abraham said.
When Egbuson reminded her of her past political endorsement, she responded: “That was then.” She also reflected on the impact of her political stance, exclaiming, “Haaaaaaa, it affected me oooo.”
Truetells Nigeria reports that in 2024, Abraham had expressed frustration after her movie Ijakumo (Born-Again Stripper) was widely shared on WhatsApp, contributing to poor box office performance. She lamented online backlash from viewers who refused to watch her film due to her support for Tinubu, saying, “You all will tell the world why choosing my own candidate is a crime and yours is not.”
