The Defence Headquarters has rubbished claims that some terrorists were setting up camps around the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and Niger State.
The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor who spoke about the report on Thursday, said there is no truth in it as if anything of such was going on, the Nigerian Military would have picked it up.
Irabor stated this while speaking at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja during the ministerial press briefing organized by the Presidential Communications Team.
He submitted that the rumours are just the handiworks of some mischief-makers.

But General Irabor in his reaction on Thursday, rubbished the Afenifere report. He said the alarm is false and should be disregarded by members of the public.

The Nigerian military on Thursday confirmed the killing of the Leader of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), Abu Musab Al-Barnawi.

General Irabor confirmed the killing while speaking at the ministerial briefing organised by the presidential communications team at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“I can authoritatively confirm to you that Abu Musab is dead. As simple as that. He is dead and remains dead,” Irabor said.

The Federal Government has thought it wise to establish mass COVID-19 vaccination sites in higher institutions of learning and religious centres across the country.
The development was made known during a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, Naija News understands.
This according to Faisal Shuaib, the Executive Director of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, will fast track vaccination exercise in the country.
“We have made plans to create mass vaccination sites and such sites include higher institutions like Universities, Polytechnics, and also religious centres like churches. We will be putting structures in place to achieve this,” Shuaib noted.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, on Thursday, vowed not to engage the Indigenous People of Biafra and its security outfit, Eastern Security Network ahead of the governorship election in Anambra State.
The spokesman of the electoral body, Festus Okoye, said the commission will not engage IPOB and ESN because it has been proscribed by the Federal Government.
