Top Gospel Musician and husband arrested for parading fake law degrees

Zimbabwean gospel musician Ivy Kombo and her husband, Pastor Admire Kasi have been arrested on charges of fraudulently obtaining fake certificates to practice law in the country.

The Herald reported that their arrest was carried out by Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) investigators, who uncovered the disturbing details surrounding their legal qualifications.

Ivy Kombo and her husband, Pastor Admire Kasi’s arrest came merely a couple of months after they were admitted as lawyers. It is alleged they got their certificates through the assistance of a suspended official from the Council for Legal Education.

Notably, Ivy Kombo claimed she holds an LLB Law and LLM International Commercial Law degree from the University of Bedfordshire in the United Kingdom. While her husband holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Buckingham (UK).

The couple appeared before Harare Magistrates Court this afternoon on charges of fraud and perjury.
