It got the name Everest from a man called George Everest who tried to locate the position of the peak of the mountain.

Mount Everest is easy to climb despite the fact that it is the highest mountain in the world, it is as well very much available to tourists.

2. Mount K2 (Karakoram two)

After Mount Everest, mount K2 is the Second highest mountain in the world. It is located between the border of Pakistan and China. Mount K2 has an altitude of 8,611 meters.

The name K2 stands for Karakoram Two as it is the second peak in the Karakoram Range.

This mountain is very difficult to climb, unlike Mount Everest, although about 250 climbers have successfully reached the top of Mount K2 (Karakoram two).

Mount Kanchenjunga is the Third highest mountain in the world with the height estimating to about 28,169 feet which is about 8,586 meters.

The name Kanchenjunga is explained as the five treasure of the snow which is believed to be from God as it contains Holy Books, Grains, gems, gold, and silver.

Mount Lhotse is the Fourth highest mountain in the world with the height of 8,511 meters.

6. Mount Cho Oyu
