Nigeria with no doubt is one of the most religious countries in Africa and the world as a whole, and that brings me to what I will be writing about today, the biggest church in Nigeria.

Nigeria has some of the biggest and largest churches in the world.

That shouldn’t come as a surprise as Nigeria has more churches within 30feet distance than any country in the world …….that’s how religious Nigerians are.

With that being said let us get to business……I will be sharing with you the top ten biggest church in Nigeria, these churches have built a household name for themselves over the years that anyone residing in Nigeria knows them.

The Biggest Church In Nigeria

So which is the biggest church in Nigeria? Check this top 10 list below.

1. The Redeemed Christian Church of Christ

This church is unarguably one of the biggest churches in Nigeria and it is the most populated church in Nigeria. It has more branches than any other church in Nigeria.

It was founded by Josiah Akindayomi in 1952 and its current general overseer is Pastor Enoch Adeboye – one of the richest pastors in Nigeria who was appointed by papa Akindayomi himself.

The church has the biggest place of worship along Lagos Ibadan expressway which can take over 500,000 worshipers at once.

This church also has lots of branches abroad and so this made it to the first place on my list of top 10 biggest church in Nigeria.

2. The Living Faith Church Worldwide

This church is also known as Winners Chapel and this church is undoubtedly one of the biggest churches in Nigeria.

It was founded in 1983 by Bishop David Oyedepo, and the church has since then grown into what we have today as one of the Largest churches in Nigeria.

This church is present not just in African countries, but in over 69 countries all over the world.

It was once known as the biggest church in the world and was on the Guinness book of records with its 50,000 seaters auditorium which is located in Ota.

It also has an overflow capacity of 250,000, and so I have it as the second on my list of the biggest church in Nigeria.

3. Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries

MFM, as it is popularly called, is another megachurch among the biggest churches in Nigeria. It was founded by pastor Daniel Olukoya.

It is one of the most populated churches in Nigeria having its headquarters along Lagos Ibadan expressway and said to be able to occupy 500,000 people at once.

Also, Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries has a global membership of over a million members and has one of the top biggest church auditoriums in the world.

It has several branches in the UK, US, Canada, and some other Countries and it is number three on my list of the biggest church in Nigeria.

4. Deeper Life Christian Ministry

This church was founded by pastor Williams Folorunsho Kumuyi.

In 1973, it is also one of the biggest church in Nigeria. It started as a Bible study group and has since then grown into what we have today.

It has branches in countries like Russia, India, sub-Saharan America, western Europe, and North America.

Its headquarters is located in Lagos Nigeria with an auditorium that can fit Up to 30,000 worshippers at once.

5. Christ Embassy

This church is also known as Believers Love World and it was founded in 1990 by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome at Ambrose Alli University, Edo state.

They have a global membership of over 1 million members. This church has its head quarters located in Lagos state, with a church auditorium that can occupy 20,000 Worshippers at once.

It has up to 4.5 million members. Its has its church headquarter in Lagos and has a lot of branches in different corners of Nigeria.

It is also one of the oldest churches in Nigeria

7. Common Wealth of Zion Assembly (COZA)

Another church on my list of biggest Nigerian churches is COZA. It was founded by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo in 1999 in Ilorin Kwara state.

Its headquarters is now in Abuja where the church has moved to and is growing rapidly. It has few branches in Nigeria and also in Dubai.

The church auditorium in Abuja has a capacity of about 10,000 seats

8. Daystar Christian Center

Pastor Sam Adeyemi is the founder of DCC……it was inaugurated in 1995, his goal as a pastor is to raise role models for Christ so its is focused on the younger generation.

Pastor Sam is also a motivational speaker, its church auditorium  located in Lagos is quite large and can occupy up to 6,000 people at the same time.

9. Synagogue Church of All Nations

This church is also among the list of biggest churches in Nigeria. It was founded by pastor T.B Joshua in 2007 Pastor T.B. Joshua. It is popularly known around the world for his miracles and healing.

This church is known all over the world as people from all over the world visit the church weekly, it is located in Ikotun Egbe Lagos.

It is the most subscribed YouTube Christian ministry in the world……you see why he made it to this list of biggest church in Nigeria.

10. Dunamis International Gospel Center

This is the last on my list of biggest church in Nigeria. The general overseer of the church is pastor Paul idoko Enenche. It was founded in 1996 in Abuja Nigeria.

Even though this church was founded in 1996 it has grown to become one of the biggest churches in Nigeria.

The church has an auditorium of 100,000 seats that was launched in 2018.
