Ahead of the February 2023 presidential election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, has said that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, named him Abraham, father of nations.
Pastor Adeboye is one of the Christian leaders in the country and heads the one of the biggest Pentecostal churches in Nigeria.
The APC presidential candidate has been reeling in controversy over his choice to run with same faith of Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State is a Muslim from the South West and his vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, former governor of Borno state.
The APC presidential candidate has since incurred the anger of the Christian faith, the Northern Christians have vowed to work against his candidate, describing his choice of Muslim-Muslim ticket as Islamisation agenda.
However, in efforts to woo the angered Christian faith, the Lagos politician in a trending video, narrated how Adeboye called him Abraham when his wife, Remi, was ordained a pastor.
Tinubu gave the details while consulting with leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Tijaniyya sect, and other Islamic groups in Kano.
According to him, “The day my wife was ordained a pastor, I was there. Pastor Adeboye gave me Abraham. I said what is the meaning, he said watch out…the father of nations.”
He lambasted the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who recently told the northerners to vote only for a northerner adding that they didn’t need an Igbo or Yoruba man.
He said, “Between all of us running, we are three now left. One just failed the most important part of the examination. Are you a unifier or a divider? He said I’m from the North.”
The event was attended by Kano governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, APC chieftains, and other dignitaries.
