The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on Tuesday met with the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja).
Their meeting is coming at a time Tinubu is trying to reconcile with aggrieved presidential aspirants and stakeholders in the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Osinbajo after his failure to clinch the presidential ticket of the ruling party has been silent on the activities of the party.
The Vice President has failed to state his view on the controversial Muslim/Muslim ticket of the ruling party.
A few weeks ago, Osinbajo’s name was not found on the list of the presidential campaign council of the party.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment and the Spokesperson of the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo had claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari directed them to omit Osinbajo’s name.
According to Keyamo, President Buhari needed his Vice to focus on running the nation.
Tinubu’s meeting with Osinbajo on Tuesday might be part of their strategy to retain power in 2023 and also consult the Vice President.
As of the time of filing this report the detail of the meeting has not been disclosed.
