Commander OSPAC vigilante group in at Elele in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers popularly known as “Fucking Naira” has been declared wanted by the Police over a missing 17-year-old student, Chibuike Nwokedi.
The boy who disappeared after the vigilante group detained him illegally in their facility is a student of Jesus The Saviour International Secondary School, Elele.
A viral video on social media showed a young man expressing fear that the boy may have been killed, while his mother, identified as Anastasia, called on members of the public to join in the search for her son.
The voice in the video said, “This young man is missing and may have been killed. His mother, Anastasia, needs our help to get his story out.”
“He is 17-year-old, Chibuike Nwokedi, an SS1 student of Jesus The Saviour International Secondary School, Elele in Rivers State.
It was said that he was expelled from school because he went home before the closing time around the Easter holiday period, this year and has been missing since then.”
It was learn that sequel to report about the disappearance of the boy by his family, detectives from the Rivers Police Command raided and destroyed an illegal centre operated by OSPAC vigilante group.
However, Spokesperson of the state Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, said the OSPAC commander fled with some members of the group when police stormed the camp.
“We made some arrests when we stormed the OSPAC camp. The Commander of OSPAC and others fled. We released some illegally detained inmates who they kept in their detention facility and destroyed their camp,” he added.
The Commander has been declared wanted by the police. If seen, he will be arrested and prosecuted.”
Omoni said the police have also arrested and file charges against two security guards of the school who handed the boy over to OSPAC, instead of the Police no matter the alleged offence.
