History was made on Tuesday in the Northern region of Nigeria as President Muhammadu Buhari supervised the first oil drilling in the region.
Truetells Nigeria reports that the ground-breaking ceremony of the oil refinery in the Bauchi and Gombe States was held today.
This is happening after two years since the resources were discovered at the locations in commercial volume. Top government officials, including the Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva, were present to witness the occasion of the Kolmani Oil Prospecting Lease (OPL) 809 and 810 at the Kolmani field site on Tuesday (today), November 22, 2022.
A sample of the first crude oil to be drilled from the site was shared online by President Buhari’s Special Assistant on Digital Communications, Bashir Ahmad, who doubles as the Deputy Director, Special Media Projects/New Media, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).
