PDP Set To Takeover Lagos As House Of Reps Primary Elections Produce Credible Candidates.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, seems to have prepared the ground to take over the mantle of leadership in Lagos State from the All Progressives Congress, APC, going by the conduct of it’s House of Representatives primary elections a few days ago judged as very free and transparent.
The election which was superintendented by Prof Babatunde Akinsanya as electoral officer and Hon Abba Anas Adamu as returning officer was devoid of rancour and thuggery as was seen in the APC.
Even though the elections were keenly contested, the results were accepted by all contestants in the spirit of sportsmanship and the interest of the Unity of the party.
The winners in Lagos House of Reps primaries includes a hospitality guru, Mr Olalemi Hakeem Olalekan, who defeated three other contestants to clinch the candidacy of Surulere 1, federal constituency.
Other winners are; Mr Oyebolaji Ayodeji. A , who emerged the candidate for Mushin 1, Olanrewaju Osundairo – Ikeja, Oladega Modiu.O – Alimosho, Hon Olowu Oluwaseyi – Shomolu, Mrs Shodipo Idera Iyabo – Ifako/Ijaiye, Ashietu Okeh Busari – Lagos Island 2, Mr Olawale Nurudeen Ijaola – Lagos Island 1, Hon Obiekwe Jude Uchenna – Mushin 2 and Mr Aiboni Sam – Eti Osa.

With this spirit of oneness and unity of purpose in the camp of the Lagos PDP, the nepotistic and imposition coupled with lack of clear and sincere leadership style inherent in the state by the ruling party, that has become very disappointing to citizens of Lagos, only PDP can stop itself from taking over Lago this time around. Much is expected from the party’s successful candidates by their teeming supporters and the PDP Lagos need to put the primary elections challenges behind them and move on to overcome the bigger challenge of winning the main elections come 2023.
