It is not clear when the Peoples Democratic Party candidate for the Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency of Benue State, Barr. Aida Nath Ogwuche was born.
Her passport reads 1982 while the document she submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission says she was born in 1987, SaharaReporters has learnt.
According to documents obtained by SaharaReporters, Ogwuche has at different times used these two birth dates to manipulate the system to her favour.
For instance, a copy of her National Identity Management Commission bio data page shows her year of birth to be 1982.
The bio data page of her passport showing her fingerprints and other information also claims that she was born same year.
However, a copy of the form EC9 she submitted to INEC stated that she’s 34 years old and was born in 1987.
“A copy of form EC9 filled by the candidate showed her age to be 34 and purportedly born in 1987. A copy of her NIMC bio data page showing her date of birth to be 1982.
“Bio data page of her passport showing her finger prints and other information showed she was born in 1982.
“Her brother, Joshua was born in 1987, according to records available on government records such as National Identity Management Commission. Joshua is the 3rd born whilst Aida is the first. There’s someone between Joshua and Aida. Could Aida have been born some months after Joshua?
“She claimed to have taken the National Examination Council (NECO) exam in 2001 at Dinop International Secondary School IN Kano with Center Number 015125 and was issued a Senior School Certificate with Candidate Number 11077179IB and Certificate Serial Number 203772915, yet she wants the world to believe that she registered for the NECO examination at the age of 13. It is also likely that she didn’t skipped Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) to 3 before taking the said NECO,” a source told SaharaReporters.
Recently, a Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja declared as “null” and “void” Ogwuche’s nomination.
In her place, the Court declared Francis Ottah Agbo as the validly nominated candidate of the party in the Constituency.
The appellate court held that Miss Ogwuche, who was declared winner of the PDP primaries by INEC was still a staff member of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) at the time of the election.

Agbo, who is the current member representing the Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Narcotics and Drugs, came second in the disputed primary election in May 2022.
Consequently, the court ordered INEC to immediately withdraw the certificate of return issued to Miss Ogwuche and re-issue same to Agbo as the validly nominated candidate of the party for the Federal seat.
She has however appealed the judgement at the Supreme Court.
Efforts made by SaharaReporters to get her reaction were not successful as she did not answer calls made by our reporter nor reply to a text message sent to her.
