The Osun State governorship election kicks off today with many residents coming out in their numbers to elect the leader to pilot the affairs of the State for the next four years.
Truetells Nigeria reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is working to retain the state for another four years and prevent parties like the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party, Accord Party and others from winning.
Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the APC is up against Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP, Rt Hon. Yusuf Lasun of the Labour Party and Akin Ogunbiyi of Accord Party.

Data from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) suggest that Ekiti has a total of 988,923 registered voters.
The election is taking in 3,763 polling units across 332 registration areas in 30 local government areas of the state.
Osun State also has three senatorial districts, nine federal constituencies, and 23 state constituencies.
Although there are 15 political parties in the state, 15 of them are represented in the contest for the next governor of the state.
