In all sincerity, who does not admire nurses in the hospital with their exceptional display of love, attention, affection and ultimately caring for patients
They assist doctors in helping patients take their medications and perform other necessary roles as they discharge their duties with a deep sense of responsibility.
School of nursing in Nigeria? Many parents while seeking admission for their children scout for the best school of nursing in the country.
Before I proceed to the best 12 nursing schools in Nigeria I will like to inform you about the provisional and full accreditation of schools of nursing.
Provisional school of nursing are schools that have been partly accredited for a given period of time before the full license is being issued.
This may be due to the inability of the school to meet the full requirements made by the body in charge and can be ceased from practicing until a full license is issued.
Also, fully accredited schools of nursing have met up with the requirement made by the national body.
These National Organizations that accredit nursing programs include the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and the other is the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
You should know that some schools of nursing are approved by their state board of nursing but are not accredited by a national accreditation body.
So, the fact that a nursing school has not been fully accredited does not mean that you will not be able to practice.
It goes without saying that to get admission into any school of nursing in Nigeria, you must have completed your secondary school education and have at least credit in 5 subjects (WAEC or NECO) and not more than 2 sittings.
The subjects include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Health Science.
Once you graduate, you would become a qualified nurse and would be able to work in any institution of your choice..
