Hon. Batife Daisi, the Deputy Leader of Ikorodu West local council development area has been accused of stealing sensitive documents and properties belonging to the council.
This was disclosed by the House Leader at the council in a video seen by SaharaReporters on Sunday.
In the video, Hon. Batife Daisi is shown loading large quantities of documents into his vehicle, prompting the House Leader to intervene and accuse him of attempting to illegally possess council properties.

Additionally, she alleged that Daisi has been embezzling N250,000 monthly from the council’s funds, further escalating the accusations against the Deputy Leader.
She said, “The Deputy Leader has stolen the sensitive documents of the local government. You are a thief. You are collecting N250,000 monthly from the council.
“You stole council properties. It’s in your car, bring them out. You refused to let us liberate Ikorodu West. You and the chairman are collecting overdraft every month.”
However, the House Leader is heard denying the allegations and demanding proof from the House Leader to substantiate them.
Allegations of corruption in councils in Lagos State are not uncommon. In February, SaharaReporters reported how over N1.9 billion of the 2023 budget of Eti-Osa East Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State allegedly went missing under the chairmanship of John Campos Ogundare.
The missing fund belonging to the council’s taxpayers was discovered during an oversight function carried out by legislative councillors who also uncovered several financial irregularities and violations of procurement laws.
The Tenders Board, responsible for approving and awarding contracts, said it was unable to hold meetings because the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Ismaila Azeez, who holds the constitutional role as the chairman of the Tenders Board Committee, reportedly claimed ignorance of any meeting.
