Department of State Services(DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC), on Saturday, arrested a special adviser to the Bauchi State State governor, Bala Mohammed during the the State Assembly By-election for alleged inappropriate act.
The New Diplomat’s checks reveal that the SA in question, Alhaji Abdon Gin, who is an aide responsible for Civil Service Affairs in the state was nabbed by operatives of the EFCC and the DSS at a Polling Unit shortly after he cast his vote in the by-election.
According to eye-witness account, Alhaji Gin was said to have entered his car after casting his vote, and was already zooming off in his car when DSS and EFCC officials pounced on him and effected his arrest.
Local reports indicate that the EFCC and DSS operatives found some money in Gin’s possession.
An eye-witness account revealed exactly what happened thus “He drove out of the vicinity of the Polling Unit after voting and suddenly, DSS and EFCC officials blocked his way and asked him to stop.
“He came down and told them he was a government official but they insisted on searching him.
“He obliged them and they searched him and found nothing on him. And then, they searched his car and found some money.”
