Operational Textile Companies In Nigeria Drop From 175 To 20 – Senator Jibrin
A former Chairman of the Textile Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, Senator Walid Jibrin, has revealed that Nigeria currently has only 20 operational textile industries.
Jibrin, who expressed concerns over the continued collapse of the industry, said there were no fewer than 175 functional textile industries in Nigeria a few years ago.
Naija News understands that Jibrin noted this during a brief chat with newsmen in Kaduna.
He remarked that the textile industry used to be the second employer of labour after the government.
