Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed two security operatives during an attack on their convoy in Anambra State.
TRUETELLS NIGERIA learnt that the incident happened in the Ekwulobia area of the state on Friday, while the security agents were on patrol duty ahead of the upcoming governorship poll.
Several reports said the gunmen ambushed the police convoy and opened fire on their vehicles, killing two officers and injuring many others.
The reports added that security operatives comprising the police and the military have taken over the area and bodies of the deceased have been taken away from the scene.
Moments later, two armoured tanks were seen patrolling the area while sounds of sporadic gunshots could be heard.
Residents were seen scampering for safety, while shops and banks in the area hurriedly closed for fear of being attacked.
