I Am Open To Constructive Criticism
Peter Obi, has said that he is open to constructive criticisms of his policies.
The former Governor of Anambra State stated this in a tweet via his verified Twitter account on Sunday, while reacting to a war of words among his supporters on the microblogging platform.
Naija News reports that one of the organizers of the #Endsars protests, Rinu Oduala, had questioned Obi on his plan to address police brutality which led to the Lekki shooting on October 20, 2020 in Lagos State.
The question by Rinu, also a supporter of the LP presidential candidate, was seen by other Obidients as unnecessary which led to a verbal attack on the political activist.
The war of words became more intense when human rights activist, Aisha Yesufu backed Rinu, saying that Obi must expressly disclose how he is going to tackle police brutality.
Reacting to the development, Obi called on his supporters to allow other Nigerians to constructively criticise his actions and statements.
The former Governor of Anambra said that he supports a new Nigeria in which citizens can criticize and hold leaders accountable.
