The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during plenary on Wednesday announced that the 10th Senate has chosen Senator Lola Ashiru, from Kwara State as the new Deputy Senate Leader.
Senator Ashiru representing Kwara North Senatorial District was chosen to replace Senator Dave Umahi, who represented Ebonyi South Senatorial District before he was appointed as the Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu.
Senator Ashiru who was the Deputy Whip of the Senate has been replaced with Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that at the ongoing plenary, the senators are also screening Ola Olukoyede and Muhammad Hammajoda appointed by President Bola Tinubu on October 12 to serve as chairman and secretary of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), respectively.
