The suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele on Thursday appeared before a federal high court in Abuja for arraignment.
Truetells Nigeria reports Emefiele was brought in from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) where he has been since he was suspended from office on June 9, 2023.
He appeared in a blue kaftan.
However, the suspended CBN Governor did not want his face captured and tried to hide as the journalists also struggled to have him on camera.

Meanwhile, as earlier reported by this platform, Emefiele was arraigned on Thursday before Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT high court in Maitama on a 20-count charge of illegal procurement.
The arraignment over N6.9 billion alleged procurement fraud was however stalled due to the absence of the first and second defendants who are said to be indisposed.
Following an application for adjournment, the Presiding Judge, Justice Hamza Muazu adjourned the matter to August 23, 2023.
Emefiele is accused of conferring corrupt advantages on Yaro, a director in April 1616 Investment Ltd.
The offence is contrary to section 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000.
If convicted, Emefiele may be sentenced to five years imprisonment without an option of a fine.
