Governor Sanwo-Olu made the announcement on Tuesday while addressing Lagos workers during a visit to the Alausa Secretariat.
He said the increase is in recognition of the sacrifices being made by the workers amidst the challenges of inflation and other economic issues in Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu added that he has given directives during a cabinet meeting for the necessary Ministries and agencies to work on implementing the approved increase.
The announcement generated huge cheers and excitement from the civil servants who gathered to listen to the Governor’s speech.
Speaking further, the Governor said there’s no need for the state to wait for the federal government as according to him, “this is Lagos.”
He added that the workers are expected to reciprocate the good gestures of the Lagos State government by putting more effort and dedication to their respective duties.

It will be recalled that the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had during a thanksgiving service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, urged Lagosians to bear the pressure of the current situation in the state.
The service titled “Perfect Peace In the Land” was held to commemorate Nigeria’s 62nd Independence day.
The Governor noted that the state is now experiencing a traffic bottleneck that would be relieved by the installation of the Red Line Rail System.
For its Redline rail project, a 37-kilometre intra-city railway system, the Lagos State Government took delivery of new train coaches from Milwaukee, United States.
Sanwo-Olu emphasized further that the state has improved its infrastructure as a result of efforts by his government and others in the past, making it a favourable area for domestic and foreign companies to invest.
