Rivers United unveil Finidi George as new head coach

Rivers United has named Finidi George, a former Super Eagles and Enyimba of Aba manager, as their new coach.

The unveiling event took place at the Rivers United secretariat in Port Harcourt.

The former Ajax winger returned to the dugout a few weeks after resigning as Super Eagles head coach.

He signed a two-year contract.

Rivers United fired long-time strategist Stanley Eguma at the close of last season owing to poor performances.

Finidi George formerly worked with the NPFL’s nine-time champions, Enyimba.

He engineered Enyimba’s title victory in the 2022/23 season.
