Presidential Aide Bwala: Nigerians Will Soon Know Terrorism Sponsors

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has announced that the Federal Government is preparing to unveil the identities of individuals and networks responsible for funding terrorism in Nigeria.

Speaking on Television Continental (TVC) on Sunday, Bwala stated that the administration is making “far-reaching decisions” on national security. He promised these decisions will soon become clear to the public. He emphasized that the threat of terrorism has evolved into a global issue. This global nature demands strong international cooperation to effectively combat its growth.

According to Bwala, global powers increasingly recognize the need to assist countries like Nigeria. Extremist groups have been attempting to broaden their influence in the region. He explained the global shift in focus: “Since the events of 9/11, terrorism has been treated as a global security issue. Any nation where terrorists operate becomes a concern to the rest of the world,” he said.

He stressed the necessity of continuous partnership “This is why international partners must continue to cooperate with Nigeria in our efforts to dismantle terrorist networks,” Bwala added. He pointed out that extremist operations once centered in the Middle East have now moved toward the Sahel region. This shift has created new areas of instability. This situation requires enhanced regional and global collaboration.

Bwala confirmed the Tinubu administration is increasing domestic measures to address this threat. The government will soon expose those funding and enabling terrorist groups across the country.

“At home, the government is making decisive interventions. In the coming days, Nigerians will know who the terrorists are and those funding them,” Bwala stated. This announcement signals a significant, decisive move in the government’s counter-terrorism strategy. It moves beyond military engagement to target the financial lifelines of extremist organizations.
