President Escapes Assassination As Unknown Gunmen Attack Air Craft.

In an attack on Friday, a helicopter carrying Colombian President Ivan Duque and others was hit with many bullets by unknown gunmen.

According to Duque in a video message, the incident occurred while the president’s helicopter was flying through Colombia’s Catatumbo region on its way to Cucuta, the seat of the country’s Norte de Santander department.

The chopper also carried Defense Minister Diego Molano, Interior Minister Daniel Palacios, and Governor of Norte de Santander Silvano Serrano, in addition to Duque.

A presidential spokesman said, no one was hurt in the incident.

The president stated that security forces have been given specific instructions to find individuals responsible for the chopper attack.
