President Buhari Sacks NYSC DG, Brig-Gen, Fadah, See Why

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier-General Mohammed Fadah has been sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari.

President Buhari on Thursday also ordered an immediate replacement of the Director-General of the youth scheme.

Fadah’s removal comes six months after his appointment as the NYSC DG in May 2022.

There are claims that Fadah after his removal as NYSC DG has been directed to hand over to the most senior official within the NYSC.

The senior official who takes over from Fadah is expected to act as DG of the corps pending the announcement of a new appointment.

Fadah in May had listed some plans for the NYSC at the time of his appointment. The plans included “improvement of security and welfare of corps members; enhancement of staff welfare; and improving the gains of NYSC ventures.

“sustaining the digitisation of the operations of the scheme, and deepening NYSC’s impact on rural development through community development service.”
