The Lagos State Police Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on Tuesday in a post on X platform, noting that the suspect was arraigned on Tuesday.
“44-year-old Ayofe Kolawole was arraigned this morning,” he wrote.
A viral video on X (formerly Twitter) had shown the moment the parent assaulted a teacher of a private school, Rosebud School in Idimu, Lagos State.
It was alleged that the teacher was beaten because he disciplined one of his pupils.
In the video, the angry father was seen slapping and punching the teacher for beating his child without his consent.
An X user, Alex Onyia who shared the video on his page said, “This is a video of a parent at Rosebud School Idimu, Lagos beating up a teacher in front of students and even threatening to beat up the school owner.
“I know teachers in Nigeria earn peanuts but any injustice against them is completely not allowed. Police over to you.”
