PDP transition chairman beaten to coma during primary

Medical personnel in Jos, the capital of Plateau State, are currently working to save the life of Hon. Christopher Audu, the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area.

Audu was allegedly attacked by delegates during a v!olent primary election on Thursday, August 15.

The election, which began peacefully, quickly turned chaotic after Audu was declared the winner. An observer, Michael Bulus, told Daily Trust that tensions escalated when some delegates and PDP members who had been denied access to the hall forced their way in and confronted the TIC Chairman.

“The mob be@t up Hon. Audu mercilessly, accusing him of manipulating the process to emerge as the winner of the primaries,” Bulus reported.

Following the brutal att@ck, Hon. Audu was rushed out of Ba’ap, the headquarters of Qua’an Pan LGA, to an undisclosed location for urgent medical attention. Sources indicate that he sustained serious injuries.

As of now, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
