Osun State Commissioner for Federal Matters, Idiat Babalola, has resigned her appointment from the Osun Government.

Truetells Nigeria reports that the reason for the resignation cannot be ascertained yet.

Recalls that former Special Adviser on Federal Matters to Osun State Governor, Idiat Babalola, who was molested at the burial of the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke , said she was attacked over rumours of her ambition to become the next deputy governor of the state.

Babalola, in a statement in Osogbo, the state capital said when she arrived for the funeral in Ede, she suspected trouble when some hoodlums started making comments which suggested that her alleged ambition was to checkmate the governorship ambition of Adeleke, who had openly declared his intention to succeed Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Babalola was violently attacked by a mob of angry sympathizers at the funeral of Alhaji Isiaka Adeleke, a one time governor of Osun State under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and a strong contender for the governorship in the 2018 Osun Gubernatorial Election.
