The head of the family of Oni- Orisan in Lagos Island, Alhaji AbduMashood Babatunde, has declared that there is no going back on the sale of the landed property to Harmony Gardens.
Speaking at a news conference in Lagos on Wednesday, Alhaji Babatunde, who expressed displeasure about how he was maltreated in a case that ought to be civil, said even in death, nobody can reverse the transaction.
He was particularly piqued that one of his half-sisters, Mrs Modupe Damasio, a known trouble maker in the family, was using police from Alagbon to Adeniji Adele to torment him.
According to him, ” I was surprised that at my age and my level of mobility, police from Alagbon and Adeniji- Adele were tossing me around. At Adeniji- Adele police station, CP Ayilara was in charge.
“I’m disturbed that we have about 5400 acres of Land in Epe, which I think is more than enough for the 77 grandchildren to share. I even promised to share the N30m that Harmony Gardens is yet to pay with them. I have collected N35m. And I explained how the 35m was expended, but my sister wasn’t satisfied.
“Though Lagos state has acquired 2000 acres for the airport project. We still have 3400 acres left. The landed property we have left is enough for everyone. I don’t know why my sister will collude with Bashiru Fakorede to destroy Harmony Gardens property,” he added.
On the way forward, Alhaji Babatunde said his sister should allow peace to reign and desist from attacking the property of Harmony Gardens in connivance with Fakorede.
” I want to urge my family members who all agreed that I should be the Head ( Olori-ebi) of the family to allow peace to reign so that we can arrange for the buyer for the vast expanse of land so that everyone will be taken care of,” he said.
It will be recalled that one Bashiru Fakorede, who the Harmony Gardens accused of attempting to grab the land he acquired from Oni-Orisan family invaded the property and allegedly vandalised it.
