The 2026 Academy Awards delivered a night of major wins and standout performances, with filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson’s film One Battle After Another emerging as the biggest winner of the ceremony.
TRUETELLS Nigeria reports that the film secured six awards at the 98th Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay, cementing its place as one of the most celebrated productions of the night.
The star-studded ceremony also recognised outstanding acting performances. Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for his role in Sinners, while Jessie Buckley clinched Best Actress for her performance in Hamnet.
In the supporting categories, veteran actress Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress for Weapons, while Sean Penn took home Best Supporting Actor for his role in One Battle After Another.
TRUETELLS Nigeria reports that the film Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, led the nominations with a record 16 nods and ultimately won four awards, including Best Original Screenplay.
