Oluwo of Iwo Bans Rep Mudashiru from Palace Over Alleged Lack of Engagement

Headline: Oluwo of Iwo Bans Rep Mudashiru from Palace Over Alleged Lack of Engagement News Report:

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has barred Lukman Mudashiru, a member of the House of Representatives, from entering his palace.

The monarch said the decision followed the lawmaker’s alleged failure to maintain consistent engagement with the palace and respect established traditional structures within the community.

Mudashiru represents the Ayedire/Iwo/Olaoluwa Federal Constituency and is a member of the Accord Party.

Announcing the move in a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Friday, Oba Akanbi stressed that elected officials within the district are expected to show respect and remain accountable to the traditional institution.

“The position of the Oluwo demands respect and accountability from elected representatives within the district. Oluwo is an entity and the traditional head of the town,” the statement read.

He added that political office holders have a duty to brief the palace on their activities, noting that they represent the interests of the district under the traditional leadership.

Reaffirming his stance, the monarch declared that Mudashiru would no longer have access to the palace until further notice.
