Ogun State Abduction: CP Confirms Six Lagos Real Estate Marketers Kidnapped at Oyebola

The Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, has officially confirmed the abduction of six marketers employed by a Lagos-based real estate firm. The incident occurred at Oyebola village, located in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.

The confirmation was provided by Commissioner Ogunlowo during a telephone interview with Punch on Sunday, November 30, 2025. This follows an earlier report from an anonymous resident of a nearby community who stated the attack took place on Friday.
Confirming the details of the incident, CP Ogunlowo said the marketers were seized while undertaking an inspection visit to the company’s land in the vicinity. The purpose of their visit was preparation for the sale and marketing of the property.

“So, they brought some marketers from Lagos to come and see the land so that they can have the requisite information to market the land for the members of the public who are interested,” the CP stated.

The Commissioner emphasized that the state police command has been actively working on the case since the abduction. The police are prioritizing the safe and swift recovery of the victims.
“It was during their visit to this land that the six people were abducted. It happened on Friday, and the command had been on it since, and we shall definitely ensure that these people regain their freedom,” the CP added.

Security experts note that such abductions of real estate professionals visiting remote sites are becoming a growing concern, posing a significant challenge to business operations in outlying areas. The incident highlights the urgent need for enhanced security measures for workers in the sector, especially when conducting site inspections outside major urban centers.

The Ogun State Police Command has assured the public and the real estate community that all necessary resources are being deployed to track down the perpetrators and secure the release of the six abducted individuals. Further updates on the rescue efforts are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.
