The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, who made this known in a statement on Friday said the divisional officer, along with all officers and men on duty at the time of the incident, have also been handed over to the Nigerian Police, Kano State Command, for further investigation and necessary action.
“Following the sad incident in which a suspect lost his life in Fagge divisional office and the subsequent setting up of panel of inquiry for discreet and fair investigation into the case, the state Commandant, NSCDC Kano State command, Mohammed Hassan Agalama has approved the removal of Fagge divisional officer, SC Amina Musa Kolawale,” the statement read.
“A new divisional officer, CSC Bashir Isa Abubakar, has now been deployed to replace her.”
While appealing for calm and peaceful coexistence, the NSCDC reassured the public of its commitment to “continuous respect to the sanctity of life, human rights as well as upholding professionalism, standard operational procedure, integrity and rule of law.”
According to a Facebook user, Jafar Magaji, the deceased identified as Halifa Abdullahi was an officer serving at the NSCDC Division in Fagge.
“He was accused by his superiors of stealing money amounting to N1,000,000 and a motorcycle. Following this allegation, he was allegedly severely beaten and tortured, which ultimately led to his d3ath. According to a statement from Halifa Abdullahi’s brother, he took food to him on the night of 6th January, 2026. At that time, he heard officers saying that they would not even allow him to eat, and he could hear the sounds of beating being inflicted on him,” he wrote.
