NNMJ Celebrates CGC Adeniyi on His Birthday

The Network of Nigerian Maritime Journalists (NNMJ) has extended heartfelt birthday wishes to the Customs Comptroller General, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, in a statement released on Monday, January 19, 2026.

In the message signed by NNMJ Chairman Elder Dele Aderibigbe, the organization praised Adeniyi for his remarkable leadership and significant contributions to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). Aderibigbe emphasized that Adeniyi’s guidance has been instrumental during challenging times, transforming the NCS into a respected entity within the World Customs Organisation (WCO) and enhancing Nigeria’s global image.

“CGC Adeniyi is truly deserving of all the accolades. He has repositioned the Service, ensuring it not only survives but thrives,” Aderibigbe stated. He lauded the CGC as a dedicated workaholic who has implemented crucial reforms, notably the B’odogwu initiative, which has notably increased revenue inflows to the Nigerian government.

The NNMJ chairman also highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recognition of Adeniyi’s efforts in boosting community relations, consistently exceeding revenue targets, and strengthening trade partnerships. Tinubu noted that these accomplishments demonstrate the importance of reform-oriented leadership in fortifying national economic resilience and securing Nigeria’s borders.

The NNMJ concluded its statement by praying for Adeniyi’s continued wisdom and strength in leading the NCS, ensuring the service’s ongoing success.
