Nnamdi Kanu promises To Expose Buhari Govt, Governor El-Rufai

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed to expose President Muhammadu Buhari’s government as well as Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, northern Nigeria.

Nnamdi Kanu, a secessionist who is on exile, made the vow on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, on Friday night, December 27.

Kanu made this statement in reaction to a video released by the Islamic State, claiming to have killed 11 Christians in Nigeria.

The 56-second video produced by Amaq, IS’ news agency, showed 13 hostages, 11 said to be Christians while the remaining were Muslims with the group claiming that they spared the lives of two of the Muslims.

IS said that the beheading of the 11 Christians, was part of its revenge against the killing of its leaders, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and Abul-Hasan Al-Muhajir, its spokesman who were killed in Syria in late October after failing to negotiate their release.

The insurgent claimed its leaders were “captured in the past weeks in north-eastern Borno state”.

“We killed them as revenge for the killings of our leaders, including Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Abdul-Hasan Al-Muhajir in Iraq and Syria,” IS was quoted to have said.

Reacting to the killing of the 11 Christians in Nigeria, Kanu accused Governor El-Rufai and President Buhari’s government of complicity.

The IPOB leader tweeted: “Get ready! I will reveal the complicity of @MBuhari’s govt. @elrufai & @NGRPresident cabal in the beheading of 11 Christians by #ISIS in a video released on 26/12/2019.”

“Date: Tue. 31/12/ 2019. Time: 7: 00 PM Biafraland Time. Join via Radio Biafra FB, FM, App, satellite & online,” Kanu added.

Kanu’s allegation came hours after President Buhari urged Nigerians not to allow insurgents to divide them along religious lines in reacting to the alleged killing of 11 Christians in Borno state, northern Nigeria by the Islamic State (IS).

In a statement released by Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, President Buhari described the execution as evil, adding that his administration will not lower its guards in the war against terrorism.

“I am profoundly saddened and shocked by the death of innocent hostages in the hands of remorseless, godless, callous gangs of mass murderers that have given Islam a bad name through their atrocities,” the Nigerian President said.
