Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing recently shared a deeply troubling personal experience on a segment of The Honest Bunch podcast, detailing how an unauthorized photo taken of her at a gym was circulated widely online.
Blessing revealed the difficult process of identifying the person responsible after the gym facility initially declined to disclose the identity of the woman who captured the image.
Visibly emotional, she stressed that this unauthorized capture and subsequent dissemination of her image constituted an intolerable invasion of privacy, compounded by a history of body-shaming she had faced following a separate gym photo incident in September.
Remaining distraught, the actress did not mince words when addressing the motive behind the photo’s circulation:
“This is my body, this is how I’ve always been. I have a six-year-old son. You get BBL and you dey take picture of my natural body, are you stupid?”
Blessing confirmed that she ultimately took decisive action against the offender.
“I later found the girl that took my picture at the gym and got her arrested, even though iFitness hid the information from me,” she concluded.
