Nigerian Woman Who Lost Her Son In Lekki Tollgate Shooting Speaks

A Nigerian woman who claims she lost her son during the Lekki Massacre, has publicly recounted her ordeal.

Truetells Nigeria recalls that on October 20, 2020, the country was plunged into mourning following the shootings at the Lekki Tollgate carried out by the Nigerian Army to stop the youths protesting against police brutality.

Two years later, Nigerians have continued to mourn and grieve over some youths who died during the tragic incident.

In an interview with Arise on Thursday, October 20, 2022, the woman who spoke in Akwa Ibom insists her son was killed at the Lekki tollgate.

Speaking through an interpreter, the woman said she saw photos of her son’s corpse on social media but she is yet to recover the corpse two years after the incident.

Meanwhile, Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has revealed why its men disrupted the ongoing peaceful match in memory of victims of the EndSARS protest at the Lekki toll gate today.

Truetells Nigeria reports that the security agents on Thursday morning fired teargas to disperse journalists and protesters at Lekki Tollgate.

A reporter with Arise TV, Oba Adeoye who had joined his colleagues in covering the event was reportedly harassed and manhandled by police operatives today.

Though it was confirmed that the journalist is safe and fine.
