Philip Solomon, a 17-year-old Nigerian student has been declared a Guinness World Record holder for most skips on one foot in 30 seconds.

On the 24th of January, Solomon officially recorded 153 skips on one foot in 30 seconds, breaking the previous mark of 145 set by Rasel Islam of Bangladesh.

On Tuesday, four months after his attempt, the Guinness World Record certified his record.
“Solomon was inspired by the previous holder of this record title Rasel Islam after seeing a video of his record attempt. He has been training to achieve the record and was honored to attend a skipping world championship,” Guinness World Record announced on its website.

Solomon has joined his Ijapo High School, Akure counterpart, Gbenga Ezekiel, who was proclaimed the global record holder for most skips on one leg in one minute with 265 skips in February, to add to Nigeria’s rope skipping Guinness Global Records.
The senior high school three youngsters were likewise inspired by Gbenga Ezekiel’s performance earlier this year.

On Monday May 15, 2023 ,at exactly 7:45 am, Hilda broke the record for longest cooking marathon by any individual hitting 87 hours 50 minutes above the previous record holder in 2019.  On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, Guinness World Records spokesperson released an official statement on its website saying: “We are aware of the record attempt and are looking forward to receiving the evidence for our Records Management Team to review, before we can confirm the record is official.”
